If you have been playing The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff ? or you are thinking about getting the pack ? you are probably familiar with the bouncy spectres that spawn on Haunted House lots.
These colourful cuties can get up to all sorts of mischief resulting in both misery and amusement. But living in a Haunted House is quite demanding with the whole consternation.
Worse still, some players have reported that the spectres aren?t spawning at all when their Sims arrive for a job as part of the freelance Paranormal Investigator career.
While have not encountered (unintentional pun), that rather irksome quirk, there is a way to get spectres to spawn in The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff without going through the hullaballoo of a Haunted House.
Note that, since we have not encountered the issue with spectres not being present on a job, we have not tested whether that will indeed aid the outcome.
However, for just general apparitions to benefit storytelling, screenshots or just because, this works perfectly well.
Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff: Cheat to spawn spectres
Yes, sorry, there is a cheat involved here ? but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do, right?
For this to work, you will need to make sure you have testingcheats enabled. There are several mods that can help with this, but if you play vanilla, you?ll have to turn it on yourself.
First, open the cheats console with CTRL + Shift + C and type testingcheats on or testingcheatsenabled true or testingcheats true [it differs for reasons beyond my technical understanding] into the dialogue box and hit enter.
On consoles the Sims shift-click cheat should work if you press X+O (PS4) or A+B (XBO) at the same time.
Once this has been turned on, you should be able to use the Shift-click cheat, which adds a whole bunch of additional cheats you might never have known existed.
Shift-click the ground and you should see a pie menu with a load of options appear. Choose the Set-up Lot option and then choose Haunted Objects.
This will spawn the spectres as well as some other objects that came with The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff. You can just delete what you don’t need, though and leave the spectres to do with as you wish.
Shift-clicking on the spectre also comes with different options like destroying its existence, setting it wander or adding investigation progress – which might be useful if you are stuck on a job that’s not moving along because of the absence of these mini ghosts.
Just remember, you use these cheats at your own risk. Since they are part of The Sims 4 rather than external ones, you should not have any issues, but always back up your files and saves just in case.
