The clock’s ticking down to the release of the new Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack. The pack is set to be released on 5 June 2020, but the base game is in for a huge update before that.
The June patch for the Sims 4 will be one of the biggest free base game updates the game has ever had. It might even be the biggest. From adding ladders to updating the bills and inventories as well as the return of some much-loved NPCs – the Sims 4 June patch of 2020 is going to be great.
For builders, though, the biggest and most exciting update coming with the Sims 4 June patch is the change to build mode that allows for the free placing of windows and doors. The news was revealed during the Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle gameplay stream hosted by the Sim Gurus.
Builders will know all about the magic of holding ALT while placing objects. This allows for more precise placing rather than objects snapping to the build grid. Windows and doors have always been excluded from that resulting in lopsided facades like this.
It’s been the bane of many builders’ existence for years. But that is all about to change thanks to the updates coming to the Sims 4 in build mode with the June patch. We’ve put together this short video – extracted from The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle gameplay stream – because we’re just so excited about this. We keep watching it over and over and just cannot wait to test it out.

When will the Sims 4 June 2020 patch be out?
The patch is set to be released on 2 June 2020, a few days prior to the release of the new Sims 4 expansion pack – Eco Lifestyle. If you play with any mods or CC, it’s a good idea to back up your files and remove your mods before you update your game. Due to the scale of the June patch, it’s likely that mods and CC will all be significantly affected. We’ll keep you updated on the latest broken mods and CC on the day.
